Welcome to the Brand Central Station etiquette school. We often find that people get completely trigger happy when it comes to social media events and there are a few things you need to keep in mind when it comes to social media etiquette. If you click the “Going” button on any event; that means that you are 120% certain and planning on going to that event. If you click on the “Interested” button that means that you merely need to double check your calendar, but that you are basically planning on going if everything checks out on your side.
We find many people who are saying that they are going to multiple events on the same day and at the same time (which obviously is totally impossible). We call people like these “event sluts”. It is extremely bad form and is making life incredibly hard for the organizers of these events. Remember; there are people relying on these numbers in order to give you the best experience and the best event you can possibly have.
So if an event says that 1000 people are going and 20 000 are interested, but only 2 show up it is a complete waste of time, energy and money & you do not want to be one of the people causing this event chaos and drama. So steer clear of event “sluttery” ;-).
