In our blog today we are tackling all things engagement.
Engagement baiting is a big no-no. This is when you ask people for likes, shares or comments. The algorithm identifies these keywords and immediately suppresses your post reach. If you do find yourself in a position where you REALLY have/want to “request” engagement then there are a few little tips and tricks of the trade:
- If you have to use any of the keywords that gets flagged such as “comment below”, try substituting some of the letters with an emoji. Swop the ‘o’ in comment with a ball emoji. This will prevent the algorithm from identifying the words.
- Also use words like should, would, who when asking a question. The use of these words in a question won’t affect your reach as much as other words.
- When it comes to engagement the answer is video, video, video! The algorithm doesn’t care how many times you ask people to like or share a post in a video. And as bonus you will get that extra organic reach as well just because it is a video.
