Content marketing is the foundation of your social media marketing. There’s a recipe to content marketing success which I like to refer to as the golden trifecta of content marketing. The content that you share needs to be; valuable, relevant and consistent.
- When we say it needs to be valuable, you need to ask yourself whether the information will mean something to someone.
- When we say it needs to be relevant, you need to ask yourself whether this is still applicable today and will people be able to relate to it.
- When we say it needs to be consistent, you need to ask yourself whether you are keeping to a posting schedule.
Consistency is crucial when it comes to social media marketing. That’s because the algorithms are designed to recognise and favour patterns. Publish your blogs and articles on the same day and time every week, post your social media posts on the same day and time every week (just ensure that these coincide with your optimum days and times). If you want to post more than one post a day, ensure that there is at least a 3 hour gap between posts.
If you keep to the golden trifecta of content marketing, you will soon find that you have a much better reach that drives engagement and, ultimately, conversions.
